என் மீட்பர் உயிரோடிருக்கையிலே எனக்
கென்ன குறைவுண்டு? நீ சொல், மனமே. (2)

சரணங்கள்
1. என்னுயிர் மீட்கவே தன்னுயிர் கொடுத்தோர்,
என்னோடிருக்கவே எழுந்திருந்தோர்
விண்ணுல குயர்ந்தோர், உன்னதஞ் சிறந்தோர்,
மித்திரனே, சுகபத்திரமருளும்.

2. பாபமோ, மரணமோ, நரகமோ, பேயோ,
பயந்து நடுங்கிட ஜெயஞ் சிறந்தோர்,
சாபமே தீர்த்தோர், சற்குருநாதன்;
சஞ்சலமினியேன்? நெஞ்சமே, மகிழாய்.

3. ஆசி செய்திடுவார், அருள்மிக அளிப்பார்,
அம்பரந் தனிலெனக்காய் ஜெபிப்பார்
மோசமே மறைப்பார், முன்னமே நடப்பார்
மோட்சவழி, சத்யம், ஜீவனும் அவரே.

4. கவலைகள் தீர்ப்பார், கண்ணீர் துடைப்பார்,

பரம பதவியினுள் என்றனை எடுப்பார்.

5. போனது போகட்டும், புவி வசை பேசட்டும்,
பொல்லான் அம்புகளெய்திடட்டும்,

Chorus
O my mind, tell me what can I possibly lack, When my Redeemer lives.

Stanzas
1. He sacrificed his life to redeem mine,
He did not abandon me but rose again and ascended to heaven in glory
Keep us in your care, O Friend

2. He rose victoriously to the utter terror of sin, death, hell, and Satan.
O righteous Lord, you have put an end to the curse.
Why should I lament? O heart, rejoice.

3. He will reign; He will bless abundantly,
He intercedes continuously for us
He will save me from harm. He will walk before me.
He is the only heavenward Way, the Truth, and the Life.

4. He will remove anxieties and wipe our tears. He will not leave us till the end.
He continues to grant us forgiveness of sins and grace.
He will receive us into His heaven.

Devotional thoughts/historical background
After the birth of their third son, the wife of the hymn writer, Samuel, was very ill and near to death. Samuel, full of grief was passing through the lane behind the church in Tranquebar and was about to enter the church printing press when he found a bit of paper on the road. He picked it up and read the words “My Redeemer lives.” The words drove the gloom out of him. He went home straight away and wrote this song, which has become a blessing to Tamil believers for over a century
